I've been in a few country pubs in Australia and New Zealand where this scenario has played out, and the result was the interjector getting a few swinging punches to the face.
Such physical reactions are far less frequent these days, mainly due to possible litigation, even in these Antipodean countries which do not have the same rights of legal redress as the United States. Of course it could be that I no longer visit such drinking places and so am not privy to such animalistic and immature antics
Obviously the cartoon is a nod to internet commenting, that done by the woke people of society ... where the explosive reaction to such an imposition can only be reacted to with words, albeit they be capitals and 'blue', or blocking.
Perhaps one day, with AI maybe, we will have an attachment, like an app but with mechanical add ons, that actually slaps you when you cross online a predetermined line of properness and respect.
I would invest in that, if it was made compulsory.
