Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, and so the US holiday in his honor, being placed on the nearest Monday as many of our holidays are, happens to fall on his actual birthday this year. How do we celebrate it? It's a day for reflection, political action, service, and education.
While it's a day for learning about and facing our history, it's also for celebrating the life of someone who dedicated his life to make things better, and making plans to do your part for justice and equality for all.

As with most other holidays (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Presidents Day, Thanksgiving...), MLK Day has become a day for sales.

I am foreign to the USA, so I grew up without any bias about him.
He seems like a really nice person, clean thinking and concise.
