A fitting song for Memorial Day, from Larry Whitler.
This is a song I wrote that tells the story of Private John Marvin Steele who was a Paratrooper in World War II and fought in the battle at Sainte-Mere-Eglise, France, in Normandy, on D-Day. Pvt. Steele's parachute became caught on a church steeple and he remained there for several hours while witnessing his comrades being shot out of the air.
