"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" is an informal motto of the US Postal Service. However, mail carriers are not obligated to deliver your mail when you're obviously messing with them.
Vlog Creations, a YouTube channel dedicated to non-harmful pranks, invested in a long series of mailboxes of varying sizes and heights, and gradually installed smaller and smaller ones to see how long it took for the mail carrier to notice. Yeah, he noticed, but he's more amused than annoyed. Then it became a battle of wits to see how small they could make the box and still get their mail picked up and/or delivered. My mail carrier will never pick up outgoing mail unless he has some to deliver. This carrier put up with ridiculous challenges all the way through.
You can see a much longer video detailing this prank here.

The Flirt
What would you do if this guy stared at you from across the room as he was eating an ice cream? He knows how to say a lot with just his eyes. No, you'll have to watch to see what happens. Meanwhile, does anyone have a fan handy?
The flirt is actor Moreno Nunes, appearing her on the Brazilian TV show Câmera Escondida, which translates to Hidden Camera. They also did a version of this with the sexes reversed, but leaves you with a different feeling. I was expecting the guys to get up and approach the woman any minute. (via reddit)

The Spaghetti Tree Prank of 1957
The BBC pulled off what is possibly the greatest April Fool's Day prank ever in 1957 when they aired a report on the spaghetti harvest in Switzerland. At the time, pasta was not all that common in Britain, and a lot of people believed it. Read more about the prank here.

The Staten Island Ferry Disaster Memorial and Museum
Warning: this video contains NSFW language.
Do you recall the Staten Island Ferry Disaster of 1963? The news flew under the radar because it happened on the morning of November 22, and the media became overwhelmingly focused on the assassination of John F. Kennedy. But now there’s a memorial and a museum dedicated to the memory of the disaster and those who lost their lives. From the memorial page:
Do you recall the Staten Island Ferry Disaster of 1963? The news flew under the radar because it happened on the morning of November 22, and the media became overwhelmingly focused on the assassination of John F. Kennedy. But now there’s a memorial and a museum dedicated to the memory of the disaster and those who lost their lives. From the memorial page:
It was close to 4am on the quiet morning of November 22, 1963 when the Steam Ferry Cornelius G. Kolff vanished without a trace. On its way with nearly 400 hundred people, mostly on their way to work, the disappearance of the Cornelius G. Kolff remains both one of New York’s most horrific maritime tragedies and perhaps its most intriguing mystery. Eye witness accounts describe “large tentacles” which “pulled” the ferry beneath the surface only a short distance from its destination at Whitehall Terminal in Lower Manhattan. Nobody on board survived and only small pieces of wreckage have been found…strangely with large “suction cup-shaped” marks on them. The only logical conclusion scientists and officials could point to was that the boat had been attacked by a massive octopus, roughly half the size of the ship. You can find out more about the memorial and the attached museum at its website. You can even get a memorial t-shirt. Residents of Staten Island were surprised by the sudden opening of the memorial, but that’s to be expected, because it was 53 years ago. It also didn’t happen. The story is hoax by artist Joe Reginella, a Staten Island native who has been handing out brochures for the memorial. The memorial does exist, if you can find it, but the museum does not. The ferry Cornelius G. Kolff existed at one time, but was not attacked by a giant octopus. The t-shirts, of course, are real. The brochures, t-shirts, and the actual statue depicting a ferry being devoured by a tentacled monster will go a long way toward perpetuating the urban legends city dwellers like to tell tourists. Hypnotism
You are Gay!

Not that there's anything wrong with that. But you have to admire the way dejiwastaken completely boxed this guy in, and there's nothing he can do to get out of it, except... prove him wrong by kissing him. (via reddit)

Free Bear Hugs
Comedian and prankster Stuart Edge bought a couple of big bears from Costco and used one as a bear costume. That’s a great opportunity to go out and offer free bear hugs!
But that’s not all. Edge also shows off some moves at a skate park, which can’t be easy wearing a plush bear. But at least when he falls, he has plenty of padding! (via Tastefully Offensive)

Carpenter Shenanigans
Jason Wolfe set up a prank in which he pretended to be impaled by a staple gun. Well, just his finger. He needs help! Luckily, Tyler was there to lend a hand. He didn’t scream or get grossed out, he was just willing to do what was needed. But honestly, would you depend on Tyler to be able to handle a real emergency? (via Tastefully Offensive)

Commencement Speaker Needed
How comfortable are you with public speaking? How about a spur-of-the-moment commencement address? Improv Everywhere staged a graduation ceremony in Bryant Park. The premise here is that the scheduled commencement speaker (John Kerry if anyone asked) missed his flight and couldn’t make it, so they asked random people to step in and do a speech. The ones who took on the challenge didn’t do half bad at all. Some, if not all, of the people who volunteered could tell that this was a prank, but they still rose to the occasion and had a few inspiring things to relate to the graduating class. You can get more details at their website, like the story behind the woman who spoke entirely in Spanish. (via Tastefully Offensive)

Time Travel Prank
The gang from Improv Everywhere staged a prank on a subway car. A panhandler asks for funding for his time machine project. The strange thing about this guy and his fundraising is that the time machine apparently works!
Yeah, they used several sets of twins to accomplish the prank. It didn’t really scare anyone, but a good time was had by all. You can read the details at Improv Everywhere. (via Viral Viral Videos)
