Where is Papa's Phone?
Papa can't find his phone. It rings, but it's not in his pockets. It's not in his car. When he walks away, no one can hear the ringing, so it must be on him somewhere. Can all the assembled family members help him find it? The best part of this video is his sense of humor about the whole thing. The mystery will be solved by the end of this video. Retirement Plan
Everyone has things they want to do, when they have the time, when they retire. It's funny how you spend 50 years working for money and taking care of your family, and then when you get some time to yourself, you just aren't able to do all those things anymore. Or you realize you should have done those things 50 years ago. But we still have our plans.
John Kelly made a short film that is poetic, funny, devastating, optimistic, wistful, and sad all at the same time. It has been shortlisted for an Oscar. (via Nag on the Lake)

Hanging Out With Your Old High School Crew
It's easy to make friends when you're a kid. It just sort of happens when you spent all day every day together in school. Twenty years after high school, you've become your own person, and you have nothing in common with any of those people. That's exactly why I've never been to a high school reunion. But I'm going to my 50th class reunion this fall. It's only been 49 years, but we saved money on combining with the class of '75, go figure. At this point, we don't have to decide what to do when we hang out together, because by the time we get each other's updates, it will be time to go home.

How To Live To 100
Every time you hear about someone who has lived to be 100 years old -or older- they have a story about how they did it. But each of those interviews is just one person's story. AsapSCIENCE has an overview of the science that pinpoints the specific things that may lead to longevity. However, some of the factors aren't under our control at all. And those that are might be confounded by other factors. Keep in mind also that a long life is not much of a benefit if the last decades are spent in ill health. Still, we could live a perfectly healthy life and be hit by a bus tomorrow. So we are back to the old adage: Plan your life as if you'll live forever, savor it as if today were your last day.
