Miss Cellania, I just went back and listened to the original broadcast of Neil Armstrong stepping onto the moon ... I'm ready to die on that hill with you.
It's my understanding that Armstrong actually did say "One small step for a man,,, ", but remember that when he said it, he had to transmit it across a quarter-million miles of space using 1969 radio technology that made CB radio seem like hi-def. It's no stretch at all to assume that a single-letter word wasn't heard clearly or got lost in static and the ether.
