The hog calling contest is a staple of midwestern county and state fairs, but Iowa puts a different spin on the idea with a husband calling contest! You may have seen a viral TikTok video that's racked up more than a million views in the last six days featuring an edited version of some of the contestants from the 2017 competition. Working Without a Teleprompter

British comedic actors Chris McCausland and Lee Mack were co-presenters at the BAFTA Awards. McCausland is blind, so they are riffing off the futility of him using a teleprompter, which is called an autocue in British English. The two don't normally work together, but the genius of this bit shows that they should. (via Digg)

We've become familiar with Joseph's Machines being ridiculously intricate Rube Goldberg contraptions, but this one is leagues above anything he's done before. The mere act of passing the pepper becomes an adventure in chain reactions. I lost track of the actual pepper early on, but it makes an appearance later. Meanwhile, you are constantly thinking, "Wait... what?" This sequence is designed to get you to look at something fascinating that has nothing to do with the actual progress of the "pepper." Taking advantage of gas prices in Ontario that fall into the FM radio frequency spectrum, @matttomic has developed a habit of voicing a promo for a fictional radio station out of the posted price every time he and his girlfriend walk past a gas station. He's trying to make her laugh (and succeeding), but as time went on, he had to stretch his imagination ever further. A radio station that plays only standup comic routines? Vintage radio plays? Pebble and Wren

A few months ago, Chris Hallbeck began a story about a house monster at his webcomic Maximumble. That story was spun off into its own comic called Pebble and Wren. Pebble is the shape-shifting house monster and Wren is the little girl he belongs to. To set up the comics shown here, they were playing an antigravity game when Pebble's horns pierced the ceiling. Mousetrap Chain Reaction in Slow-Motion

The Slo Mo Guys set up a chain of 150 mousetraps, and set them off manually. Dan doesn’t even have time to withdraw his hands an inch before they all go off! Luckily, only one of them actually trapped him, but that had to be a scary experience. We get to see it in glorious super slo-mo, then in real time, which takes no time at all.
