Trump's mass deportation efforts depend on the government's ability to turn documented immigrants into undocumented immigrants. It's hurting military families and those who helped the US in Afghanistan. Even if you were born here, you have to have the papers to prove it.

Surprised to hear Dr. Demento is still doing his thing at 84, and finally retiring.

Are French Canadians polite Frenchman or rude Canadians? Seriously though, it was good to read that the whole jumping thing was not endemic to the North Maine Woods. Given the amount of time I spend up there it would be only a matter of time before I found myself involuntarily leaping into the air, screaming, repeating words, or instantly obeying shouted commands. Well sure, I do that now sometimes, but tequila.

Happy Friday Miss C!

Anyone who has seen one of those things burning will know it cannot be done

Three cheers for Juliana the War Hero Dog! And I thought Dr Demento was dead. Interesting article about Edward Gorey too.

Anybody care to calculate the tax revenue losses from deporting 1500 people per week?
Now compare that to the expense of rounding up 11 million people (estimated number of undocumented people) who ARE paying taxes of all kinds.
Now calculate the expense and the loss of revenue from deporting anyone who speaks against anything Donny T and the oligarchs are doing.
And calculate that to the expense of detaining all of them until some country agrees to take them.l
Because that's the part that isn't getting any public disclosure.

Where will the revenue come from now?

The Cato Institute crunched the numbers. It's almost a trillion when you add up the factors you cited. https://www.cato.org/blog/deportations-add-almost-1-trillion-costs-gops-big-beautiful-bill

The money will just be added to the budget deficit. We all will pay for it eventually.
