Reminds me of when the Hubert H. Humphrey Dome (the Metrodome) in St. Paul was torn down. Turns out they sold off much of the fixtures such as the seats, office furnishing, and the various display cases. I'm told that the Green Bay Packers tried to purchase the trophy case, figuring it would be a good deal as it was still like-new and had never been used.
