Sick: A Slasher Film in a COVID World

The COVID-19 pandemic is the backdrop for the new slasher film Sick. When you think about the early days of the pandemic, it's the perfect setup. Everyone wanted to isolate themselves, preferably away from civilization if possible. You had to think hard about who you'd want to be with because it could be for a long time.

In this movie, two young women isolate in a huge vacation cabin in the woods to ride out the pandemic. Then a boyfriend shows up. But he isn't the only one. When a killer begins stalking them, the fear of disease takes a back seat for the protagonists, but everyone else is terrified of the coronavirus, so they have a hard time getting any help. That's a more logical explanation for this common horror situation than we've seen in quite some time. Sick will premiere on the Peacock streaming service on Friday, January 13th. (via Gizmodo)
