Adam Ragusea deconstructs the chord that makes Mariah Carey's song "All I Want for Christmas is You" so iconic. It's not that the chord sounds all that "Christmassy" if you ask me, but it does evoke earlier Christmas standards, namely "White Christmas" and "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)." And since we are still playing those standards from the 1940s and '60s, while we don't hear them the rest of the year, the sound of that golden age of Christmas music has that association.

That was pretty interesting for a non-musician like myself.
