Taking in an Injured Pelican

Naude Dreyer runs a kayaking business and co-founded the organization Ocean Conservation Namibia. They work to rescue and advocate for fur seals and other marine animals who are in danger from fishing lines and nets. When he encountered an injured pelican, he had to help, even though nursing a bird was a slight left turn for him. Dreyer's home is equipped with a small wildlife rehab unit and a nice garden, so he took the pelican in. The bird has only minor fractures, so it was a matter of time and care before she could fly again. Dreyer's daughters named her Elsa.

Now that you've had a small taste of what Dreyer does, you see more of Ocean Conservation Namibia's work at YouTube. (via Laughing Squid)
