Christmas with Babies vs Teens

You've often heard the phrase "Christmas is for children," and it's true that many of our customs revolve around kids. When you're a parent, that changes from year to year. Babies are confused, but cute. Kids from about three through 12 enjoy all the trapping of the holiday, which all need supervision, and they have very specific desires for a gift from Santa. Teenagers are more competent, and can attend events on their own, but they need a lot of money for them. And they would just prefer money -lots of it- for gifts. At least they will let you sleep late on Christmas morning. The Holderness Family quickly illustrates the difference in this presentation that parents will relate to. But just as soon as you think you're done, grandchildren come along, and you start all over.
