If you never got a chance to see the TV series Dinosaurs in prime time, you missed out on one of the more bizarre television experiments of all time. That is, if you discount the experimental shows that were canceled after a few episodes. Dinosaurs ran for four years! Looking back on it 30 years later, all we can say is "What were they thinking?" The show was marketed to kids, but had some really dark plots based on how different dinosaurs are from humans. And it was quite funny. This retrospective questions its target audience, but highlights how imaginative Dinosaurs was.

Yeah, this was one dark series at times. Adult themes like Sexual Harris Meant. But it was generally funny most of the time - Not The Mama. Sherman Helmsley was perfectly cast as the boss of The Mighty Megalosaurus. The last episode I found rather poignant, with the dinos facing extinction but doing so surprisingly bravely.
