What do you do with 35 million tons of sand? If you are smart, you harness it for a side gig as a skiing resort. A kaolin mining operation in Hirschau, Germany, named their slag pile Monte Kaolino and opened it for tourists. Now, this is how you take lemons and make lemonade. I'd read sand mining for the concrete industry is raising hell with the ecology in many areas and they need more. I wonder if this sand is good for that?
