Garden

Yep, growing plants from seed is much cheaper than buying plants, so here I am with dozens of tomato and pepper plants and no place to put them. I've already distributed them to neighbors who will use them; on Sunday the rest will be taken to church. (via Fark)

"...on Sunday the rest will be taken to church."

1) And then on Monday, I'm going to take them on a picnic.
(punchline of an old joke about a man with a pet pig)

2) how do you know what denomination they are?

You gotta quit feeding me such great straight lines, Miss C.

Like children, they won't have a choice! I guess I should have mentioned I'm taking them to church to give them away to whoever wants them.

I knew that, but the chance to make the funny was just too tempting to pass up.

Actually, you should keep them.  You will be much more appreciated by the others in your congregation when you are trying to get rid of the excess of ripe tomatoes and peppers... and it makes a nice change from the glut of zucchini we usually see in-season.

There is no such thing as excess tomatoes and pepper to someone with a basement full of canning jars. But I won't have much his year anyway, because my garden spot is worn out and my tiller won't start, so I am gardening in pots. And I am out of pots.
