The impressive gisnt mechanical figures of Les machines de l'île are like something out of a science fiction film -by Jules Verne. These animals are both technological wonders and works of art. Now we can take a look inside heir facility in Nantes, France, where they are built and stored. And if you're ever in the neighborhood, you can ride one yourself for less than ten euros! If not, take a ride with Tom Scott on a 40-foot-tall steampunk mechanical elephant.

Seen video of a bunch of machines they built in Nantes. They are all amazing, especially seeing them out in the "wild". Granted when they appear on city streets the route is carefully controlled for safety, but it's still amazing to watch them move with young and old watching with their mouths agape.
