The 1989 film Earth Girls Are Easy was based on Julie Brown's 1984 song of the same name. I saw it on home video a few years after its theatrical release flew under the radar. I was shocked at how star-studded it was. Geena Davis! Jeff Goldblum! (They were married at the time) Those two guys from In Living Color (Damon Wayans and Jim Carey)! Julie Brown! Charles Rocket! Michael McKean! The movie was a box office flop because there was apparently no real demand for a neon-colored science fiction rom-com musical at the time. I enjoyed it. To this day, when I can't remember the name of a beauty salon (which is every time), I call it the Curl Up & Dye Salon. It's a very '80s movie, and not for children.

I haven't seen Earth Girls, but Curl Up & Die is also a salon in the Blues Brothers movie.

That was fun, never realized how thin Geena Davis was.
You call that thin ?
Back in the day people without excess body fat were called normal ... I suggest giving up sugar and carbohydrates.
That pool scene was the staple diet of many, many males back then ... young and old ... and probably still is..
It should be called miracle fabric.
Of course for me it was Geena's intelligence that I found attractive ... nothing else.
Reckon I can find that movie on You Tube.
