One of my earliest blogger friends has passed away. Jonco, at Bits and Pieces, died yesterday evening. His children broke the news on the blog.
Jonco was a link blogger from way back; he started Bits and Pieces in March of 2002. His idea of blogging was like mine; find funny and/or interesting things on the internet and share them with people who might enjoy them. In doing so, he built a community of people who stopped by his site for a laugh. They commented, they got to know each other, and they had discussions, largely with his "Open Mic Saturday" posts. Jonco traveled around and met some of his readers, and was always open to having dinner with someone who was passing through St. Louis. Then in 2010 he inaugurated his famous "Big Ass BBQ," (BABBQ) for loyal fans to meet up and have a good time. Jonco repeated his hospitality again in the next year. In 2012 he organized a Bits and Pieces gathering in Las Vegas. A good time was had by all. Another Las Vegas reunion was planned for 2020, but had to be canceled due to the pandemic. It's always sad when blogging buddies pass away. Jonco sounds like a great guy who will be greatly missed.
So sorry to hear this. Bits and Pieces was a daily stop for me. RIP. Sorry for the loss of your friend

Missed checking in for the last day or so but Jonco's was one of my regular stops most days.
Not sure how long ago I discovered B&P but the site was still using a blogspot.com address back then.
It was on B&P that I first saw the link to the MissCellania site.
