His obituary is here. And a eulogy here. (via Nag on the Lake)"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."

I have found, thinking about the above words, that if you perform the duties of a devil's avocado, especially about covid and maybe it being a scam, you can alienate entire Christmas get togethers.
Not that I feel strongly either way, or at least I won't admit as to which side of the fence I tumble down on ... just that throwing the topic into the fray has such a disappropriate level of response.
I have a few advocates in my kitchen, soon as they are ripe ....
^^The "devil's avocado" gave me a chuckle. My brother makes what he calls devil's guacamole, which has habanero peppers in it.
I must point out however that disappropriate is a verb, meaning to take something away from someone, often after having misappropriated something.
At any rate, playing the devil's avocado is probably not a good tactic at a holiday gathering.
Cheers.
