A couple of tourists were stuck in their rental car when around 150 bison commandeer the road at the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park last month. The woman is afraid of them, hoping they don't attack or damage the car. But she needn't worry. The bison are just going from one place to another, and the road is wide, firm, and slopes gradually. Why shouldn't they use it? After all, we are the tourists, and this is their home. They don't see the cars as anything but obstacles to walk around. The bison just went about their business, and eventually so did the tourists. (via Everlasting Blort)

That's a nice time of the year to visit up there.
That's right. It's their home. We just happen to provide easy walking paths!
Just want y'all to notice that there is snow in the trees and along the side of the road. Winter in the mountains is coming, and Yellowstone in winter is an entirely different park.

I once drove down a county road in Northern Wisconsin at 2:00 AM. Over a slight rise, there were over one hundred deer foraging for nuts. Very similar feeling. To make it even stranger, they were all on one side of the road. You see, the road was the boundary for a reservation. The natives had no hunting season while Wisconsin did. The deer were smart enough to stay on the Wisconsin side.
