Redshirting

I was a little confused there at first, too. I thought redshirting was for college athletes, so they can stay eligible to play until they graduate five years later. But the term has seeped down to kindergarten, where the stakes are even higher. I know the noun "redshirt" in Star Trek, but never thought of it as a verb. This comic is from Litterbox Comics.
