During Comic Con weekend, movies studio trot out thrilling trailers for movies that may be just around the corner, or may not be out for another year. Such is the case for Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the third Hollywood-made Godzilla film, and a sequel to the 2014 Godzilla. It will be the 35th overall Godzilla film. And like the Japanese film series, this one expands to include other giant monsters.
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be in theaters in May of 2019.
