Don't Get Screwed Buying A Used Car

If you insist on buying a used car from an individual, this is a pretty good checklist. I took the easy way out and bought the last two cars from my mechanic. There’s not much selection, but he occasionally has a repair job that doesn’t ever pay or pick up the vehicle (yes, he had the titles). Or I can find a car and take it to the same mechanic and he’ll check all these things and tell me whether it’s worth buying. My family has pretty much paid for his last boat, so he’s good to us.
