Even more of the grievances are met, and exceeded, by Trump when you consider that all migrants have the rights of "the people of the United States." He's not just rounding people up, for kangaroo courts to send them to a gulag in El Salvador, he's sent some 200 there already, without *any* due process, just the word of the Executive.

He is attempting to destroy trade, by trying to get kickbacks for trade deals, which, you know, might make sense if you have a *goal* in mind, but he thinks he should be worshipped for letting them sell in America, so his kickbacks are about glorifying him.

He refuses to obey the law - in 1776, that was a big effing deal, because everyone knew that even the Crown (and not just the King or Queen) had to obey the law.

And, like, if I taught social studies, I'd be all "so, here's what separation of powers means. If you break a federal law - say, you spray graffiti on a federal building - and the judge has either accepted a jury verdict, or, your plea of guilty, and you're going to go to jail, at least overnight, even if you're getting parole, do you think you can walk out of that room? No - if you try, federal officers will restrain you, and even potentially shoot you!
Well - that's the same situation as a President refusing to abide by a federal court's ruling. It's like the President saying "that's not the law! You can't convict me!" and, because he's surrounded by the SS, he can't even be arrested, right?

That's what I'd teach my social studies students. And when they said "but didn't the SCOTUS just crap all over that notion?" I'd say "yes, they did. And I don't mean metaphorically speaking, I mean (gross depiction elided). But that doesn't make it correct, or right."
