The resilience of the human spirit despite disaster is wonderful to see.

My mum went though the bombing of London, she could have quite easily been just off camera in that photo.
Going through all that by herself, with a couple of kids, probably what made her a bit crazy .. even though there was a lot of community spirit, most of the time she would have been worried about the next bomb ... they all would have been, she told me 'It's not the ones you can hear"
Imagine sitting in your house, couple of your children on the mat, playing, and every evening you know the bombs are going to fall ... and then you hear the whistle, as a German made bomb drops on the next street over ... and you tense up, because they drop 5 or 6 at a time, and the whistle is only around them, not directly under them ... which is where you sit, wanting to protect your babies.
Our dad was over in Africa, fighting the Germans - people forget that the Germans wanted the whole lot, wonder where they would have stopped.
I have never owned a German car, time moves on, but they killed my two uncles and I know how to hold a grudge.
I have owned a couple of Japanese cars, years ago now, but then I found out about what the Japanese did, how they invaded China, how they treated their prisoners of war ... ...
So since then I have limited myself to non German European cars and Australian made ones. these last 20 plus years I have had only Swedish and Italian cars.
The Italians fought against the allies in the second world war, but halfway through they changed their minds ... and they do make beautiful cars !
Anyhow, to Anonymous, it's been 80 years, get over it.
And why not have a name ?

Of course bombing isn't funny, but this photo exemplifies the British "Keep Calm & Carry On" attitude in the face of peril and destruction during the Blitz. True grit!
