Four Lions and Four Tigers

The Buffalo Zoo got four new lions all at once! On June 2-3, their lion Lusaka gave birth to her third litter of cubs, two males and two females. Their father is Tiberius. Since Lusaka took good care of them, the zoo's veterinary team waited a month to examined the cubs, and found them healthy and thriving.Read more about these four lion cubs at Zooborns.

Then on June 15, AquaZoo in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, saw their first tiger birth ever. A litter of four Amur tigers were born to mother Aïda and father Vaadim, a tiger from Hungary. Amur tigers are seriously endangered, and European zoos are coordinated through a management program to breed the tigers.
