In 1927, Lillian Carter was a nurse, and helped to deliver a baby girl named Rosalynn in Plains, Georgia. A few days later, she returned to visit the family, and brought her three-year-old son Jimmy with her. Years later, 20-year-old Jimmy was home on leave from the US Naval Academy and his younger sister set him up on a date with Rosalynn. Later that night he told his mother that's the girl he's going to marry. That didn't happen until the next year, 1946, when Rosalynn was 18 and Jimmy graduated from the academy.
On Friday, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter celebrated their 77th anniversary at their home in Plains. That makes them the longest married presidential couple ever, a record they've held for years. The 98-year-old former president is now under hospice care, and Rosalynn suffers from dementia, but they still have each other, and they are as close as ever.

Love wins (I’m not the Dalai Lama)
Guess he was the last honest president we had. I didn't say great or perfect, just honest.
