Jim (we never learn his last name) makes American hamburgers in Fukuoka, Japan. After twenty years of marriage, his wife said she wanted to go home to Japan. Turnabout is fair play, so Jim moved to Japan and opened U.S. Burger, even though he didn't speak Japanese. That was three years ago. Now he speaks some Japanese, and his English has a Japanese accent. The restaurant specializes in high quality authentic American hamburgers, and has quite a reputation in Fukuoka. The eatery started as a hobby, so Jim was free to put his heart into it. He didn't have a culinary background, but he knows what a good American burger is. (via reddit)
