Hospitals in Two States Denied an Abortion to a Miscarrying Patient.

IMO, these hospitals/doctors are risking the life of a patient to make a political point. Imagine a doctor refusing a potentially life-saving procedure rather than standing up for what's right. Imagine if people like Joseph McNeil, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair Jr. and David Richmond lacked the courage to disobey a law because they might get arrested. Shameful.

BTW, abortion is legal in Kansas up to 20 weeks, (22 weeks after the last menstrual period). There is a 24 hour waiting period which is waived if the health of the mother is in danger. New restrictions on abortion were proposed after the Supreme Court decision in 2022. These restrictions were soundly defeated in an August 2022 referendum.

Kermode and Mayo's Take is a brilliant film podcast. Mark Kermode is the critic with an encyclopedic knowledge of film and Simon Mayo is the everyman who doesn't let Kermode get away with pretentious bullshit. They bicker constantly and the chemistry is brilliant.
