There's absolutely nothing wrong with using the internet to learn things. I might even go so far as to say it's the best thing about the world wide web. That goes even for people looking for very specific knowledge that some people might consider weird. You just don't have to broadcast it. This comic is from Sarah Andersen.

It is the best thing about the web. Hub and I are always looking things up during our long rambling discussions. The web replaced shelves of encyclopedias that timed out with such regularity. Nice that someone is talking about the positive stuff.
When I looked things up in encyclopedias I was sure the information was correct.
Unfortunately that’s not true on the web. It’s not just the hot button subjects like politics or religion, people will write paragraphs about the most mundane unimportant subjects that’s wrong or partly wrong. I don’t know if it’s because they are misinformed, or it’s an intentional joke, but it’s certainly annoying and can be a disaster for kids doing homework.
