Last night was the broadcast of the first episode of Jeopardy! without Alex Trebek. Guest host Ken Jennings was an inspired choice, as Jennings came to fame as a contestant on the show. In his opening remarks, he wavers a little, which is uncharacteristic of him. It's no doubt in genuine verklemptitude on stepping in for the late Trebek. Ken will do a great job. (via reddit)
Although I never met Jennings, he and I worked for Mental Floss at the same time, so that's a little brush with celebrity. I can say the same thing about maybe a dozen other well-known authors.

I could have sworn that 'verklempt' was a Dutch or German word, but apparently it is Yiddish....
