Sister Sledge released this song in the spring of 1979, just in time for my class to adopt it as an anthem for our graduation from a women's college. I'm getting pretty nostalgic about it, since 41 years later, my youngest will receive her diploma in a couple of days. In the mail, I guess. No ceremony, but we will celebrate somehow.
