Pharmaceutical Ad

While I understand what this video is saying about the state of the modern world, real pharma ads drive me up a wall. They are targeted to the .0001% of people who have a very specific condition, and expect those people to ask their doctor for this specific medicine, even though the side effects can be death, and by the way, if you are in the target group and have have a terminal condition for which other treatments have not worked, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, because she might not know.

My favorite part is when they say,
"Do not take Cellania if you are allergic to Cellania."
Does that really need to be in the commercial?
And how would you know if you're allertic to the drug if you haven't taken it?

Most other countries don't allow for direct to consumer ads for prescription medication because obviously it's best for your doctor to be knowledgeable in that subject. Heck, maybe the price could go down a bit without that ad budget. We have the 1st amendment which unfortunately is why we are one of 2 countries (the other is New Zealand) where it's allowed.

As far as side effects go, most of that is CYA legal stuff. There may be rare cases where someone died using a product, but the correlation is not always causation.
