The long-awaited sequel to the 1982 film Blade Runner finally came out in 2017. Blade Runner 2049 was praised by critics and received five Oscar nominations, but audiences weren't all that enthused. The box office take was disappointing, and the film ended up losing money. Maybe that was because it was more than two-and-a-half hours of slow dialogue punctuated by occasional violence.
