In 1981, Bernard Sanders became the mayor of Burlington, Vermont, and soon after was interviewed by Phil Donahue on The Today Show. In the almost 40 years since, inflation has made the figures in this video laughable, income inequality has grown exponentially, and Bernie lost his hair, but otherwise he is exactly the same as he's ever been.
