All work requires skills of one sort or another. The difference, I guess, is in how you acquire those skills. Welding, carpentry, and plumbing are all considered "skilled trades", but just holding a certificate, diploma, or license isn't enough. Until you've done a task repeatedly enough to be able to do it properly, quickly, and accurately every time you cannot be considered "skilled".
