In the 1950s, a committee in Florida went on a campaign to get rid of homosexuals. These are the "good old days" that so many people want to go back to. The documents they mention are here.
We have to be careful of the vocal minority that sounds like a majority. Nazi Germany was taken to war by a minority. The intelligent most often don't speak up (except me, of course) Remember it was one congressman that made alcohol illegal in that place called the USA, against the wishes of probably 98% of the population. I have a friend who is gay/transexual/ whatever and he tells me a lot of the offers he gets are from straight men who start off talking about how they hate gays and poofters, but then slide their hand up his leg. I guess them that protest too much are hiding things. Let people decide for themselves how they like their sex, as long as no one is being forced or hurt (unless they want to be). None of it is rocket surgery or brian science, we just need to be kind to others.

It's a shame they didn't succeed in driving out gay people and watch the state go bankrupt. Would have taught them a huge lesson. ;o)
