I Love Lucy: The Pilot

The pilot for the series I Love Lucy was recorded as kinescope in 1951. It never aired. Lucy was pregnant with her first child at the time. But the executives at CBS liked it enough that they green lighted the series, despite some misgivings about an “all American girl” married to a Cuban. (via Vulture)
