Chuck Jones: The Evolution of an Artist

Chuck Jones directed more than 200 cartoons for Warner Bros. You watched them over and over: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Roadrunner, Pepe le Pew. Here we have a chance to see those wonderful characters again and learn about their motivations, personalities, and how they managed to give us so many laughs. There’s a lot more going on than you realized as a child watching cartoons. Tony Zhou of Every Frame a Painting takes a look at how legendary animator Chuck Jones crafted his wacky cartoons. He made some great cartoons all right. What's Opera Doc may be the best ever made. But he did have his limits. His Tom and Jerry series, made late in his career, is cringeworthy, this probably because he had no experience with the characters and simply didn't understand them.
