Not long ago, I was driving on a stretch of new road in England, every few miles, there'd be an overhead gantry sign, with "Sign not in use" scrolling across its high-tec surface.
I had to turn the radio on to distract myself from thinking about the conundrum of a sign being used to attract your attention in order to instruct you to ignore it. But then, if you try to ignore it, you're following an instruction implicit in the sign's message, which of course is contrary to........................................................................................................................ booom! My brain imploded.
