My daughters teacher made mistakes like that. She lasted less than a month.

So like I'm thinking I'm an idiot because I can't make sense out of the "correct" answer.

One 'cut' takes 10 minutes. It takes 2 'cuts' to make 3 pieces --- so 2 cuts x 10 minutes / cut = 20 minutes

DWVR, the teacher is thinking of the number of pieces, instead of the number of cuts.

The problem is underdefined. The cuts are not specified to have the same length.

Using the same logic, we must also consider that they may be using a different time construct from us, and then, what is time anyway, but a fleeting thought, once spent often forgotten.
The word anonymous is made primarily, of the French word 'No', the letter 'Y' (symbolising an unknown quality or quantity), and an abridged version of the word mouse, our collective name for Mus Musculus.
I mention this purely because some people comment with lyrically perfect words, and others with astoundingly logical points of view, and such wit should be accorded praise, but such an act is difficult to accomplish when we do not know who gave us such treats.
In my heart I hope that EVERY comment signed by Anonymous(e) was written by the same invisible person, spreading their humour and cleverness in such a way to thwart us lesser beings being blinded by the comparative brilliance.
