Randall Munroe is a net.god of explanations, and this one happens to be spot-on. It's perfectly normal to have trade deficits. And by the laws of economics, even a trade deficit ends up rebounding to the benefit of trading partners.
That's because, in Econ, there's nothing more sacred and nothing more valuable than trade. Even if the pizza parlor gets more of your money, than you get of theirs. :-).
