Winter in Yellowstone National Park

If you want to see Yellowstone without all the tourists, go in the middle of winter. The coyotes still hunt, the buffalo still roam, and Old Faithful still pops off on schedule, just without a crowd standing around taking pictures. Snow and ice form unworldly formations around hot springs. The caveat is that when Drew Simms took this video footage, the temperature was 37 degrees below zero.

On the other hand, if you want to see Yellowstone without all the tourists, you could just watch this video. (via Nag on the Lake)

Lived up north of 60 for a while. I kind of miss the -40 days in the winter. Usually clear skies and as long as you were bundled up it was great to be out and about.

In Alaska it was embarrassing to come inside and have the melting ice from my whiskers dripping down the front of my shirt.

If it just cools down a bit to, say, -38, you wouldn't need a C or an F.
Funny thing is, here where I live it is predicted to reach 38 today.
And that's C, Miss C, the real deal, no ice is nice, lol.
