The rest of the ice looked pretty good, Debra, except for that one patch. Maybe there's an inlet, a current, or something else there that keeps the water circulating and doesn't let that one particular area get too thick, no matter HOW cold it gets.
Love the way he acknowledged the 'applause' after he was pulled up onto firmer ice, too. I mean, if you're going to screw up, do it with style — and if you can't, at least show some class afterwards.
