An Iranian couple recite poetry together, until they are stopped in traffic and see another couple fighting. Thursday Appointment may make you cry when watching it, and then afterward, you find out that (highlight for spoiler) in Iran, Thursday is the traditional day to visit graves. The old man is reciting poetry with the memory of his beloved wife. Directed by 20-year-old Syed Mohammad Reza Kheradmand, the short film won an award at the Luxor African Film Festival. Ah, he remembers .... but he probably remembers pre 1979, when she was not forced to wear a scarf on her head to please someone's interpretation of a made up god's intent. FFS. Cute though, even though it shows that the Iranian economy is such that children beg from traffic stopped at the lights ..... and notice the lights, when they go green, count backwards, echoing the progress of Iran. Gods and religion, ruining the happiness of mankind since some power hungry men made it all up.
