"The Bertha Butt Boogie" was a 1975 novelty song from The Jimmy Castor Bunch about a large woman who danced. It was a Top 40 hit, but even back then it was problematic. The BBC decided the best way to illustrate it would be to use very skinny dancers. (via Bits and Pieces)

Skinny ? They look like normal sized people. But then I don't live in the USA !!!
I don't recall this song, but I do have fond memories of his previous opus featuring Bertha Butt --
Troglodyte
Troglodyte was the first thing I thought of when I saw
Bertha Butt. Just about every line in that song is still
ingrained in my head.

Never heard of this either. Didn't even realize it was
the same artist. Sir Mix-A-Lot (and others) say thank you.
