I am not American, and I do not really know the story about Thanksgiving, but I do recognise when the woke roller coaster is railroading someone.
It's nothing at all like that. What is sad that it's a dinner for one, when people should be spending the holiday (whichever holiday it is) with other people.
For me, buying that would mean I'm not going to family, where I disagree with everyone about everything, and people are affronted by someone who would feed the starving, is against capital punishment, and who doesn't believe in any of their gods. It is occasionally fun, however, to get them arguing about what Jeebus would do.
