Is you think that stupid ....
For years I would tell people how dumb I thought Americans were, because they called petrol gas. "Petrol is not a gas" I would say "it is a liquid that BECOMES a gas when it is atomised through a carburettor or an injection system" Astonishing people by my grasp of mechanics and physics.
Years later, and I am talking well over a decade, well over ... someone pointed out to me that when Americans say gas, they are using the abbreviation of gasoline ... gas.

Picture me, the guy who smashed the I.Q. scores at high school, self employed by 22, a self made millionaire by the time I was 38 and that was way back in the early 90s when a million was a lot bigger (long since gone bankrupt since) cursed with a blind side when it comes to the perfectly obvious fact that someone could shorted the word gasoline.

That abbreviation made me eat humbl pi.

Can't wait to learn that an American gallon of GAS doesn't have 4.5 litres of petrol like everywhere else in the world.

Adds embarrassed lols to explain there is no edit feature and I speed type and don't proofread.
*shorted -shorten. *using 'since' twice in one sentence.
Litres is spelt correctly though, liter is what you use to light a cigarette.
