Miniaturization

I don't see a flashlight, magnifying glass, or dictionary, but this is a rather old picture. (Thanks, WTM!)

You saying I have an intense looking man in my pocket ?

And the problem with the dictionary is that it is an American one, and hence a lot of words are spelt wrong.

Don't see a telephone! You know, the kind that sits on your nightstand or hangs on the wall.

Why didn't I even think of looking for that? That's mainly what I use my phone for now!

I've got a hankie in my pocket, and it's the same size as they were fifty years ago.

Is there a wristwatch on his right wrist? Is there a folded map somewhere? A book? Also, a device to contact a select group like with a walkie-talkie, now done by something like Signal. Yes, today's phones replace a lot of things.
